Love:
June, Spoon, Moon - A Musical Celebration!
Directed by Ricky
Selterman
Musical Director: Vic
Schioppo
___________________________________________________
Let the intimacy of our
charming theater and the effusion of classic love songs transport you through the phases
of love between "Joan" and "Charlie". Step into their world of
starry-eyed romance, relate to the uncertainty of commitment, feel the heat of their fiery
passion, and melt into the days of love gone bland. Twenty-six powerful Broadway musical
love songs recall the pain of discontent, the arrival of children, and the celebration of
a full and passionate life. Something for everyone except for the chronically glum, and
even they won't stay that way past Act One!

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
by Tom McCabe
_____________________________________________
When I was a child in the mid
1940's, one of my fondest memories was of my family sitting in rapt attention in front of
our wooden radio listening to a marvelous program call "Let's Pretend". It
featured talented actors and actresses who brought magical stories and fairy tales to life
and tickled the imagination of all who listened", reminisces Bernice Garfield-Szita,
President of Center Players, Freehold's resident theater company.
Live theater is exciting for all
ages. This season, Center Players is introducing its "Let's Pretend Children's
Series", with offering for youngsters five and up, their friends, parents, and
grandparents.
The series' first production will
be "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" by Tom McCabe and directed by Jack
Rosmarin of Marlboro. It will be performed by teens and adults for children at Center
Playhouse, 35 South Street, Freehold.
This zany, fairy tale adaptation
brings some familiar characters together such as the hungry Big Bad Wolf, a sassy Red
Riding Hood, her irritated mother, dear grandmother, a hunter, and three funny and playful
little pigs. The pigs attempt construction of their houses and the Big Bad Wolf tries to
deconstruct their abodes, so that he can fill his hungry belly. The characters interact
with each other and the audience to create a riotous combination of fun-filled action for
children ages 5 to 100.
The cast features, in alphabetical
order, Bernice Garfield-Szita of Manalapan as Grandma Hood, Kaitlin Pellman of Howell as
Oink, Ray Ruiz of Monroe Twp. as Piedmont Pierre, the Woodsman, Jaclyn Trippe of Manalapan
as Porky, Claire Tsiporukha of Morganville as Bacon Bits, Jon Tyler of Manalapan as
Cornelius BB Wolf, Alli Wertheim of Morganville as Red Riding Hood, and Annie Wolbrom of
Sayreville as Mrs. Hood.
Don't miss this premier run of the
"Let's Pretend Children's Series". Mark your calendars for the dates of the
shows: Saturday April 26 (3 pm), Sunday April 27 (2 pm), Saturday May 3 (11 am & 3
pm), and Sunday May 4 (11 am). All tickets are $10.00 and include complimentary beverage
and snacks during intermission of each performance. Tickets are on sale now and can be
ordered by calling 732-462-9093 (option 1) or online at www.CenterPlayers.org.
